Grocy, Clicker, Morris, Kjellski

No, it's not an alternative shipping forecast, it's Malty Mail.

things I've been up to

  • Since you're a Malty Mail reader you probably appreciate why a program to help organise stock of goods and 'chores' in your household is an interesting thing to do... even if you aren't interested in doing the organising. I'm still wandering down a self-hosting rabbit hole and Grocy is the best solution I've found for it. While I did look at SnipeIt, Grocy seems better suited to household use and has been easy to setup too.
  • I've also been having some fun with my clicker press. Meant to press cutting dies through sheet material I bought it primarily for leather cutting. As always, AliExpress is a great source of cutting dies and certainly cheaper than making your own. By way of comparison:

A small custom keyring die cost me just over £100 from FastFinish who were by far the best company I spoke with.

A generic sunglasses case from AliExpress cost £21 delivered.

  • Kjell was kind enough to invite me over to German for a few days. He's a fellow you should follow on Instagram if you don't already.

spiffing things to focus on or grab your attention

  • Makers Waffle had Peter Millard on who made some great points about newsletters and membership platforms.
  • The boys at Fools With Tools are back with a new podcast, stick around to the end to find out who changed jobs!

I'm pleased to share that Morris Lubricants is now a sponsor of Malt & Make!

I've been using their products for a while now and I'm glad I can work with a British company who has a whole range of things that fit with what I love to do. It's also a big step for me as a maker to have the support of a company so if you do buy anything from them, let them know I sent you! At the moment they're subsiding products but I'm hoping I'll be able to work out some giveaway things soon!
